Ingredients

  • 1 c old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 c water
  • 1 apple, diced
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ¼ c chopped walnuts
  • syrup or honey to garnish

Instructions

  • In a small pot, add the water and bring to a light boil
  • Stir in the oats, apple, lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, salt, nutmeg and allspice. Reduce heat to a simmer (Medium-low), stirring frequently 
  • After 5m of simmering, remove from heat and place lid on the pot for 3m
  • Serve and garnish with chopped walnuts and maple syrup or honey drizzle
