Apple Pie Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 1 c old fashioned rolled oats
- 2 c water
- 1 apple, diced
- ยฝ lemon, juiced
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ยฝ tsp salt
- ยฝ tsp ground nutmeg
- ยฝ tsp ground allspice
- ยผ c chopped walnuts
- syrup or honey to garnish
Instructions
- In a small pot, add the water and bring to a light boil
- Stir in the oats, apple, lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, salt, nutmeg and allspice. Reduce heat to a simmer (Medium-low), stirring frequentlyย
- After 5m of simmering, remove from heat and place lid on the pot for 3m
- Serve and garnish with chopped walnuts and maple syrup or honey drizzle
